MyNearWallet is being deprecated on October 31, 2026: move your NEAR account to another wallet

Deadline: 31 October 2026 (13 days left)
From late 2026: MyNearWallet becomes a migration and recovery tool, then a static page in 2027.
Checked against the official sources below on 18 October 2026.

MyNearWallet (the continuation of the original NEAR Wallet) is planned to be deprecated on 31 October 2026. Your NEAR, staking positions and NFTs live on the NEAR blockchain, not in the wallet app, so they are not lost; what goes away is the interface. From October the wallet moves to a reduced, migration and recovery-focused mode. Meteor Wallet is expected to be the recommended migration path.

1. The official route

  1. Make sure you have your NEAR account's seed phrase or private key backed up. In MyNearWallet, use the guided migration flow when it is shown.
  2. Import the account into a supported NEAR wallet such as Meteor Wallet, then confirm your balances and staking positions there.
  3. Never paste your seed phrase into a website you reached from a link or a DM. Type the wallet's address yourself.

2. Things that catch people out

Questions people ask

Will I lose my NEAR when MyNearWallet shuts down?

No. Your assets are on the NEAR blockchain. You need your seed phrase or private key to import the account into another wallet.

Which wallet should I move to from MyNearWallet?

MyNearWallet says Meteor Wallet is expected to be the recommended migration path; other supported NEAR wallets also work.

3. Moving funds onward

Changing wallet doesn't move funds, so there is no bridge to use here.
